A great selection of pirate flags from your favorite plundering pirate.
Many pirates sailed under flags of their own design. The pirate flag was crafted to strike fear into the hearts of victims and to encourage a speedy surrender. The pirates' usual black flag and death's-head was called a roger.
The buccaneers, like other pirvateers, sailed under their national flag or the flag of the nation from which they had drawn their commission.
Sometimes, when calling a ship to surrender, they also flew a red flag. This was said to have been dipped in blood, but probably had been dipped in paint.
As piracy took over the high seas, the flags of the nations were taken over by flags of the pirate rogues of the time.
Our pirate hats, not available on the high seas, are 5 panel blackbrushed canvas. These high quality unstructured low profile caps have grommet stitched eyelets and fabric.
